It’s always one of the complaints how to use edXedX is the fact you have very limited access to instructors. Teachers are able to interact with students in real life in traditional classroom settings, but in the online environment, real-time interactive feedback or discussion sessions hardly ever occur. Accordingly, if they have questions, students may be hesitant to ask for help or direction — particularly in demanding courses that require more profound comprehension.

As someone who likes to learn at my own (fast) pace in the comfort of my own home, EdX is a good and cheaper solution.

The downside is that although some courses are paid, the certificate you receive is not worth as much as an actual diploma from a university. You also don’t get the social interaction and activities that come with attending a physical university.

Personally, I prefer taking online courses because of my learning schedule and the ability to simply stop taking the course if something comes up.

A certificate from an online platform can convince an employer that you love learning and that you may be a good fit.
